Tetelestai
By Rick Kavanaugh
I wanted to paint a scene that highlighted the cross with the crowd being somewhat abstract, with no real discernible face, other than the soldier, because it could have been any of us standing there. I titled the painting "Tetelestai" because that was the cry from the cross. It translates into English as, "It is finished." The original is pastel on sanded surface.
